ClearCorrect

Cosmetic Dentistry

Imogen Dental | Oxfordshire & Hampshire

If you’re looking to straighten your teeth, ClearCorrect might be just the thing for you. ClearCorrect aligners are comfortable, removable, nearly invisible, and, best of all, they work without impacting your daily life. Eat what you want, brush and floss as usual, and get straighter teeth without anyone knowing you’re in treatment—it’s that simple.

WHAT ARE CLEARCORRECT ALIGNERS?

ClearCorrect is a clear aligner used to straighten teeth as an alternative to traditional metal braces. Similar to other clear aligners such as (Invisalign), it is available to dentists or orthodontists certified to offer them to their patients, ClearCorrect straightens teeth using a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners that gradually move teeth a little bit at a time, eventually correcting the teeth and smile to elicit a new, revitalized look.

HOW DOES CLEARCORRECT WORK??

ClearCorrect treatment involves four phases of aligner therapy. Each phase requires a new set of aligners that are worn for a three-week period. The time between each phase allows for control and flexibility.

ClearCorrect aligners are worn all the time, except when eating and drinking, or while brushing and flossing. Designed with aesthetics in mind, ClearCorrect aligners are barely noticeable and won’t have an impact on your daily routine.
After wearing each aligner set, results will be noticeable as your teeth begin slowly adjusting and aligning to your desired smile. Periodic check-ups with your dentist are required so your progress can be evaluated and you can be given the next set of aligners. This sequence will continue until you have achieved your new, smile.

Treatment time can vary from one to two years, depending upon your specific condition and degree of misalignment.

AM I SUITABLE FOR CLEARCORRECT?

ClearCorrect is currently available to treat malocclusions in adults and teenagers. Children who might not have all of their molars and senior citizens who present with more complicated dental cases may also be suitable candidates for ClearCorrect but should consult with their dentists to determine the treatment option that best suits their needs.

ClearCorrect can be used to treat the following orthodontic conditions:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Spacing between teeth
  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Crooked or turned (rotated) teeth

WHAT IS THE CLEARCORRCT PROCESS?

the ClearCorrect journey is a super easy 3 step process.

your first appointment
Make an appointment with one of our Orthodontists. They’ll evaluate your smile by taking dental records (usually with a 3D scanner) and examining your overall oral health.

your treatment plan
Next, we develop your digital treatment plan—the strategy for how your teeth will move and what techniques we will use to move them. When it’s ready, we will share it with you, and you’ll be able to see your planned smile even before starting treatment.

your treatment
Once your aligners are ready, we will get you back in to check that they fit properly and provide you with additional instructions based on your unique treatment plan.
From there, your job is simple: wear your aligners for 22 hours every day and transform your smile!

CLEARCORRECT COSTS

The cost of the Clearcorrect system varies depending on your orthodontic needs. During your orthodontic consultation, our orthodontist will examine your smile and understand what you’re looking to achieve, to recommend suitable options. They’ll then go through a bespoke treatment plan, including a breakdown of the costs involved. you can also find information on this on our Fee Guide page.

Fastbraces

Cosmetic Dentistry

Imogen Dental | Oxfordshire & Hampshire

The wait to get straighter teeth and a confident smile is now past. Orthodontic technology known as Fastbraces provides dental patients with a safe, fast, and affordable way to improve their smile. Imogen Dental, with surgeries in Benson & Kingsclere, is excited to offer Fastbraces as a treatment option for patients who want a bright, dazzling smile and straighter teeth quickly.

WHAT ARE FASTBRACES?

FASTBRACES® Technology is a fast, safe, easy and affordable treatment. With the patented triangular design of the braces, cutting-edge techniques and a special heat-activated wire, this new technology is revolutionizing the field of orthodontics by now allowing both general dentists and specialist orthodontists to offer very efficient non-extraction comprehensive orthodontic treatment.

With safety in mind, FASTBRACES® Technology was developed to straighten teeth differently - allowing for a fast, safe and affordable solution.

FASTBRACES® Technology high-performance bracket systems allow for movement of the roots of the teeth towards their final positions from the beginning of treatment by torquing them from the very first appointment.

HOW DO FASTBRACES® WORK?

rotating Fastbraces Brace

The basic concept of Fastbraces is similar traditional braces – shift and move your teeth into a better alignment. However, unlike traditional braces where you have an entire set of brackets placed on the teeth, wires threaded throughout your mouth, and rubber bands placed on the sides, Fastbraces uses a simplified system.

With Fastbraces, specially created triangular brackets are placed onto the teeth. The triangular bracket is attached to a square-like wire that reaches down to the root of your teeth. It is this square-like wire that makes the system different from traditional braces.

When teeth are moved and shifted with traditional braces it is typically done in two steps. First, the top portions of the teeth are moved and then the roots of the teeth are moved. This is why it takes so long. With Fastbraces the entire two-step process is turned into a single process. Instead of moving the tooth in two separate steps, Fastbraces moves both the top/crown and the root of the tooth. Moving the whole tooth allows dentists and orthodontists to speed up treatment time and get you a straighter smile without having to wait years.

AM I SUITABLE FOR FOR FASTBRACES® ?

It’s not unusual for many older patients to believe that braces and orthodontic treatments are only for teens and young adults. It’s a common belief that once a certain age has been reached, the ability for orthodontic treatment diminishes and it’s no longer a viable option. In reality, however, this is not the case. Orthodontic treatments can be performed on patients of all ages, not just younger people.

Similarly, Fast Braces are a perfectly suitable choice for conducting tooth straightening treatments on patients of all ages. However, optimum time savings and the fastest treatment timelines are achieved in pre-teens and teenagers, while the bones in the jaw are still growing and developing.

WHAT IS THE FASTBRACES TREATMENT PROCESS?

If you feel that FastBraces may be right for you, the first step is to book your initial consultation with the team here at Imogen Dental. We will begin the process with a discussion with you on what your goals are and explain in greater detail what your personalized treatment plan may look like and the costs involved.

We will take the time to go over all the specifics with you and answer any questions or concerns you may have about how FastBraces work, and what you can expect throughout your treatment. Following this we will carry out a full examination which will include dental X-rays.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS of FASTBRACES® ?

The dramatic reduction in the length of treatment is a huge benefit of Fastbraces, but it isn’t the only benefit. There are several other benefits that make Fastbraces a good treatment choice for many orthodontic patients.

Some of the other benefits of Fastbraces include:

  • Preserves your natural bite so you don’t have to be uncomfortable as you relearn to talk or chew with your newly aligned teeth
  • No extractions – almost all patients can get Fastbraces without needing to have teeth extracted
  • Only one wire is used which reduces discomfort and prevents you from looking like you have a bulky orthodontic system
  • Treatment can be completed in half the time of traditional braces – some people can have a straighter smile in 20 weeks
  • Jaw bone reabsorbs the root of the teeth faster which leads to quick stabilization of your teeth in their new position
  • Dramatic reduction in pain

FASTBRACES® COSTS

The cost of braces depends on the type of brace or aligners you have and your orthodontic needs. During your orthodontic consultation, our orthodontist will examine your smile and understand what you’re looking to achieve, to recommend suitable options. They’ll then go through a bespoke treatment plan, including a breakdown of the costs involved. you can also find information on this on our Fee Guide page.

LUMIWHITE FAQs

  • Who is LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening suitable for?

LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening products work really well and may be used to treat a variety of cases including:

    • Yellow teeth due to ageing.
    • Tetracycline stained teeth.
    • Yellow/Brown teeth due to fluorosis.
    • Discoloured teeth due to calcific metamorphosis.
    • Dietary stains.
    • Anterior teeth prior to composite bonding or porcelain veneers/crowns.

Nevertheless, it is up to your LUMIWHITE Dentist to determine your eligibility for LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening.

  • Who is LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening not suitable for?

In general, LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening products are not suitable for:

    • Anyone under 18 years of age.
    • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
    • Patients who are not dentally fit – i.e. have caries,
    • extensive and/or deficient restorations, periodontal problems or other problems which may cause hypersensitivity during whitening.
    • Patients who want to whiten their crowns, veneers, fillings or dentures
    • Patients who have unrealistic expectations.
    • Patients who are not willing to carry out the treatment as directed by their LUMIWHITE Dentist.
  • How is LUMIWHITE different?

LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening is a professional-grade teeth whitening system developed by UK dentists. Non-professional alternatives, such as whitening toothpaste and blue light whitening, contain zero (or very small amounts of) Hydrogen Peroxide – which is the main active whitening agent used by LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening. Hydrogen Peroxide safely and effectively whitens teeth by breaking down the large organic molecules that cause staining.

LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening contains up to 6% Hydrogen Peroxide which is the maximum, legal and safest concentration. It is illegal for anyone, including dentists, to offer or provide teeth whitening at a concentration greater than 6% Hydrogen Peroxide.

  • What is the difference between LUMIWHITE BY DAY & LUMIWHITE BY NIGHT?

LUMIWHITE provides you with DAY and NIGHT whitening options so you can choose the type of whitening that best suits your lifestyle.

With LUMIWHITE BY DAY you can achieve optimum results with minimum wear time (as little as 1½ hours!) whilst LUMIWHITE BY NIGHT is designed to be worn overnight for maximum comfort and convenience.

Both DAY and NIGHT options offer an option for sensitive teeth

  • Is LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening safe?

LUMIWHITE products were developed by UK dentists and have been used by thousands of dental patients worldwide. They do not damage your teeth.

To comply with UK regulations, LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening can only be delivered under the supervision of a LUMIWHITE Dentist. That’s why every patient, who places an order at our dental surgery, must undergo a full dental assessment prior to using LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening.

  • How long do the whitening results last for?

LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening has been designed to ensure the whitening results are long-lasting.

We completely understand how important it is for all our patients to maintain the level of whitening that has already been achieved.

Your LUMIWHITE Dentist will be able to recommend an appropriate top-up whitening regime with you to help you keep your teeth the way you like them.

Rest assured, we are confident you will be very happy with the whitening results achieved using LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening products.

  • What if I need some fillings? Do I have to have these before I can whiten my teeth?

LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening treatment is subject to a full dental assessment by our LUMIWHITE specialist.

If your dentist informs you that you require a filling, or any other additional treatment (for dental health purposes), they will give you the option of having any additional treatment beforehand.

  • My teeth are sensitive. Can I still whiten my teeth?

Tooth sensitivity is a known side-effect of professional teeth whitening.

LUMIWHITE Teeth Whitening gels contain Potassium Nitrate and Sodium Fluoride – two ingredients, clinically proven, to manage tooth sensitivity. Despite the addition of these ingredients, we understand some patients may still experience sensitivity and this is usually very mild.

We can also offer LUMI SOOTHE, a revolutionary, fast-acting, desensitising gel that can be used for at least 10 minutes before and after teeth whitening. It contains two active ingredients, Potassium Nitrate and Sodium Fluoride, which are clinically proven to minimise tooth sensitivity and promote tooth remineralisation.

In addition to using LUMI SOOTHE Desensitising Gel, we would also advise you to use any of our DAY or NIGHT teeth whitening kits that have been specifically designed for patients with sensitive teeth.

Get A whiter smile in only 10 minutes without sensitivity

The BlancOne® treatments are the result of a 15-year research leading to a new approach to tooth whitening, based on the development of new photochemical technologies.

It’s a proven fact that the light emitted by whitening lamps does not increase effectiveness of the peroxides used during tooth whitening, it only slightly accelerates the reaction by means of the heat transferred to the gel.

BlancOne® photochemical gels, instead, include two special components, in addition to the peroxide, which can break it down in such an effective way and at a speed which cannot be achieved by the chemical reactions of the traditional whitening systems.
